It’s approaching the time of year where we artists do our thing as part of a ´bigger picture’ in Somerset:- SAW
This year we will be transforming the GoCreate Orchard Gallery into an exhibition space reflecting the connection to the landscape seen and felt by 10 local to Taunton artists…
We are venue 19 in the brochure and we are leaning towards the landscape…
The “landscape” of connection is not necessarily a physical landscape…it’s just that which connects us; we often refer to the “cultural landscape”… in my mountain patchwork, each painted patch is symbolic of the connection of people to the land…skiers, sheep farmers etc and each relating to the next piece of the puzzle – that is « community »
My landscapes may be based on my home in the French Alpes, but it is deeply linked to Somerset…the journeys made to and fro, and the responses through my art that I create here in my Somerset studio…
